What's
the difference between a
writing
mentor and a writing coach?
Mentors use their hard-earned knowledge to instruct,
guide and gently lead you to bring about the story
you want to tell. They are known as a muse, because
they draw out of you what you already have inside
your heart, but have not been allowed to explore, until now.
Mentors
show you the ropes, shortcuts and positive paths
to getting your ideas down on paper, and then they
encourage you to keep going until you write
"The End." If you stray off course, all
you have to do is call your mentor, and they're there for
you, 100%. They've been there, and they want you to
succeed. That's their mission.
Coaches, on the other
hand, help you follow a structured
plan or course of action and help you strategize
how you can win the game. Just as Olympic Gold
winners have coaches to make sure they practice
and perfect their athletic skills, writing coaches
offer the writer a plan and structured path for
guaranteed success. When you're accountable to
your coach, he or she won't let you down. Why?
Because they believe in you!
How
Can you Benefit from Hiring a Writing Mentor and
Coach?
First, we talk with you to determine where your
writing project is in development. We talk about
what you would like to do and how you would use our
help. Then we determine the best course of action
that fits into your schedule. After that, you will
decide which coaching package you can afford
and then we get to work.
We
can answer all your writing, marketing and
publishing questions as you work through and
complete each phase of your book or screenplay.
These coaching sessions are conducted by telephone or e-mail,
and you can choose the days and hours that suit
you. In addition, while we're coaching and mentoring
you, feel free to send any questions by e-mail and
we will answer them promptly.
Bottom
line? You set a timeline for how long you want to
work with your mentor and coach so you can write your book or
screenplay. It's that simple. Hire a mentor for an hour,
or hire a coach to walk beside you for three months.
Either way, you'll shorten your journey, eliminate
a lot of stress, and you'll benefit from all that
we've learned over the years. Is this a good thing?
We'll let you tell us when you experience the
thrill and excitement of holding your completed
work in your hands, knowing that you accomplished
your goal, and your dream is in sight. Are you
ready?
